Danisco Implements Omada Identity

Global Compliance and Identity & Access Management

Danisco, one of the world’s leading producers of ingredients for food and other consumer products, has implemented Omada Identity to provide a uniformed Identity and Access Management solution within the global enterprise.

Danisco has undergone a major transition from being a global conglomerate of many diverse business units to becoming one unified business. This has been accomplished with a razor-sharp business focus and streamlined, IT-driven processes.

The identity and access management solution in place at Danisco is based on a joint Microsoft and Omada solution. It covers business requirements, such as role-based access control and role mining, compliance reporting and audit trail, workflows with approval, self-service, segregation of duties, delegated administration, and advanced SAP HR integration.

Advanced RBAC
Strong integration between the identity and access management solution and SAP has been a significant factor in achieving streamlined operations at Danisco. The identity life-cycle management processes are integrated with SAP HR and automated by dynamic workflows with approvals, replacing manual administration.

Advanced role-based access control (RBAC), detection and mitigation of segregation of duties, and compliance reporting give Danisco constant control and accurate overview of its users and access across the heterogeneous system environment.

“We chose the joint Omada-Microsoft solution for its proven enterprise readiness and advanced solution for role-based access control and compliance,” says Claus Hagen Nielsen, Vice President of IT at Danisco; “It is our aim to increase our enterprise effectiveness and fulfill stringent regulatory policies for identity management - the joint solution enables us to achieve that.”

With the advanced RBAC in place, system access is automatically provisioned by the solution based on an employee’s roles in the company, reducing administration and increasing productivity levels.

“Zero Tolerance” regulatory compliance
In addition to Danisco’s focus on global business process optimization, the organization exercises a proactive ”zero tolerance” policy towards regulatory compliance issues due to the stringent regulatory policies within the business of food ingredients, enzymes, and bio-based solutions.

The Omada and Microsoft solution enables Danisco to reduce the resources normally taken to generate an exhaustive compliance report. The compliance reporting feature in the solution provides a complete overview of granted access rights and at the same fulfills regulatory requirements.

Efficient management of access to confidential data
Another specific requirement the solution has solved, is the support of “Managed Folders” in Windows for managing access to confidential data. This addresses the creation, access management, and deletion of
centrally managed shares and folders in the distributed file system, as well as the reporting of this.

“We are pleased that Danisco has placed its confidence in Omada Identity solution, underlining its robust advanced role based access control and compliance features that empower global enterprises to comply with strict regulatory requirements,” says Peter Houe Hansen, Nordic Account Manager in Omada. “We look forward to improving the performance and for Danisco to grow its business through a consistent, global identity and access management solution.”

The state-of-the-art solution is implemented within Danisco’s heterogeneous system environment, integrating data across the system to deliver uniformed and comprehensive identity and access management processes worldwide.
