Increased awareness that data control is key to corporate security means success for Omada’s IGA offerings

Enterprises understand that they need to get in control and stay in control of who has access to their data, to minimize damage when security is breached.

Copenhagen, Denmark - May 2, 2016 – Omada, a market leader in identity governance and access management, celebrates growth in customer base and a great financial result for 2015. The company accredits its success to the heightened awareness in enterprises of the necessity to control user access to data as a security measure.

Enterprises and public organizations are quickly learning that a multi-layered approach to data control is essential when it comes to securing an IT environment. Traditional efforts to secure the perimeter are essentially inadequate because hackers, by definition, will always be one step ahead of any defensive measures an IT security team can implement.

Deloitte and Omada Collaboration Empowers Corporate IT-Security with New Tools for Data Driven Control of Access Risks

For an organization to maintain a high level of security as well as complying with strict regulatory legislation for secure handling of data, efficient control of users’ access rights is crucial. The new cooperation between Omada and Deloitte will deliver a best practice solution for data driven control of identity and access related risks.

"The proposed EU privacy regulation is a perfect example of the increasingly strict requirements for handling of sensitive personal data. Omada Governance as a Service provides a quick and easy to understand overview of users’ access to critical data - the built-in reporting and documentation delivers the perfect foundation for Deloitte's services towards establishing appropriate corporate security measures to ensure the optimal compliance level," says Morten Boel Sigurdsson, CEO of Omada.

In order for management to control risk and define secure business policies, they need a solid basis for their decisions, rather than just a gut feeling. Data-driven risk management identifies risks across complex platforms, and delivers a detailed overview, so that monetary loss is preventable, and regulatory compliance requirements are dealt with.

"By ensuring on-demand, complete overview of users’ access rights across systems and applications, organizations are able to avoid unnecessary risks and security vulnerabilities. We offer a comprehensive package that combines consultancy services from Deloitte supported by Omada’s technology for access governance to ensure that security processes are optimized and simplified,” says partner in Deloitte Mikkel Schøning.

Specifically, Deloitte and Omada partner in the use of Omada's online identity and access governance analysis tool "Governance-as-a-Service”.

Europe's First Dedicated Data and Security Investor Backs Omada and Continues to Put Capital Behind Protection Against Insider Risk

C5 capital announces a USD24 million investment in omada, its third to date

Copenhagen & London – 11 May, 2015 Europe’s first dedicated investor in the data and security sector, C5 Capital (www.c5capital.com), today announced a minority equity investment of USD24 million in Omada (www.omada.net), a European provider of identity and access governance (IAG) and identity access management (IAM) software to businesses. This marks the third Investment that C5 Capital has made into the European IT security market and is its largest commitment of funds to date.

This investment reflects C5 Capital’s expectation that the IAG market will continue to evolve and grow at a robust rate. This growth is driven by the increasing risk of cyber- attacks faced by all enterprises; the impact of new and increasing regulation; and the cost benefits that can be derived from the greater automation of the provisioning function.

C5’s investment will fuel Omada’s continued expansion beyond Continental Europe into the UK and United States. It will also fuel sales and marketing activity and enhance the company’s R&D capabilities.
Denmark-headquartered Omada is one of the few European companies featured in Gartner’s “Magic Quadrant for Identity Governance and Administration 2015.”

Omada’s customers comprise blue chip organizations in Europe and the US including BMW Group, Bayer Group, Altria Group, Maersk, HVB Unicredit, DekaBank and ECCO. Omada currently deploys 120 people and has recently announced that it doubled its profits in both 2013 and 2014, growing at an annual rate of over 30%.

Identity and access governance is a core element in an enterprise’s cybersecurity infrastructure, helping to reduce the risk of internal and external security breaches and to prevent data/IP loss. It is used to determine the access rights of employees within an organization, managing a complex web of rights and providing a robust compliance and governance framework. Initially deployed in highly regulated sectors such as financial services and healthcare, data access control and protection is now being more widely applied in other industries such as retail, automotive, manufacturing and the public sector, with the segment experiencing growth of c. 10% per annum.

Nazo Moosa, Managing Partner of C5 Capital, commented on the investment:

"Security and safety are being redefined in the 21st century, with technology at its core. Managing access to critical IT systems and sensitive customer data by employees, subcontractors, outsourcers, suppliers and partners has become a cornerstone of enterprise security. The adoption of such technologies is democratising. We see an inflection in the market with organizations outside traditional regulated sectors choosing to adopt IAG solutions.”

“This investment recognizes Omada’s track record of profitable growth and we look forward to joining forces with the management team to accelerate market expansion and support product development initiatives.”

Ms. Moosa outlined the rationale behind C5 Capital and what it offers fast growing businesses in the data and security sector: “C5 Capital launched last year with the objective of exclusively focusing on the fast growth data and security sector and is the only fund of its nature in Europe. We are interested in backing European businesses in this sector, which have the potential and ambition to take advantage of strong market dynamics to grow significantly.”

Morten Boel Sigurdsson, founder and CEO of Omada, said of the investment:

“C5’s deep understanding of cybersecurity and ability to add value will help us to solidify our leadership position in the European enterprise security market and beyond”.

“As a fast growth company, it is critical to our success – and to our customers and partners – that we continuously develop our capabilities and invest in products and people. We look forward to working with C5 to shape the future of the IAG/IAM market and to deliver innovative solutions for our customers.”

C5 Capital has also today announced the appointment of three experienced technology executives to its Technology Council, which provides strategic and operational advice to the fund’s investments. The three new members include: Simon Church, CEO of NTT Com Security (previously – VP EMEA of Verisign); Dr. John Bates, CMO of TecDax Listed Software AG; and Per Roman, co-founder and managing partner of GP Bullhound LLP.

Omada Identity Suite v11:

Introducing a Revolutionary Release That Takes Intelligent Access Governance to New Levels

Copenhagen, January 14, 2015: Omada, a leading provider of adaptable identity governance solutions, today announced the version 11 release for its award-winning Omada Identity Suite. The new release includes an interactive dashboard that helps enterprises achieve 360° control of access data across on premise and cloud systems.

Internal security incidents can have serious implications for enterprises. Analysis shows that up to 71% of employees have unauthorized access to confidential company data. According to E & Y’s 2012 Global Information Security Survey, employees are the most likely source for an attack on IT security, whether they are deliberate or the result of errors and negligence.

Failure to protect data and IT systems increases risks for reputation, audit failures, loss of intellectual property and confidential information, and many legal issues. To mitigate such risks, organizations need to define and implement IT access policies such as segregation of duties, least privilege, and role based access.

Morten Boel Sigurdsson – CEO, Omada says, “The problem arises because these policies are impossible to implement and enforce. Many organizations can’t gain full control of their access data; as a result, they can’t detect non-compliance with corporate policies and mitigate situations proactively. Many find it difficult to really ‘get a grip’ on the granted access rights across all their on premise and cloud applications.”

The problem is multi-faceted and includes:

  • Poor visibility into who has approved what (if approved at all)

  • Inability to match policies with actual access granted in IT systems

  • Meaningless rubber-stamping for re-certifications and approvals

  • Ambiguous access rights that lack clear business descriptions

  • Poor ownership overviews for applications and data

  • Inability to seamlessly onboard new systems, applications, employees, Contractors

These challenges all point to the same problem. Many organizations are not in full control of their IT environments when it comes to access control and experience an increased risk of a severe security breach.

Omada Identity Suite v11 is a direct response to these challenges. The new release introduces a governance dashboard that adds significant power and flexibility to existing dashboard capabilities. The governance dashboard offers organizations a consolidated view of all access data across applications, on premise and cloud-based. Just as important, the new functionality offers much more than an overview. All data is reconciled, and if inconsistencies are detected, they can be corrected with a single mouse click. This powerful feature is easy to use, reduces risk, and saves valuable time.

System owners, managers, and internal auditors work with a user interface experience that is relevant to their job role. This is possible due to the sophisticated reconciliation and policy engine that lies ‘under the hood’ in the product. The reconciliation and policy engine performs advanced calculations, ensuring that actual data across all applications are constantly analyzed and evaluated against policies such as access policies, SOD policies, and approvals.

In addition to the new interactive governance dashboard, Omada Identity Suite version 11 delivers a range of enhanced capabilities:

  • An interactive survey designer enables easy guided creation and release of advanced, customized surveys

  • Flexible attestation survey templates support easy to understand access certifications—no more rubber stamping

  • A new reference architecture supports advanced reconciliation, and analysis of current state of entitlements

  • Advanced policy creation and enforcement utilizing the Reconciliation and Policy Engine

  • Enhanced IT resource lifecycle management for easy onboarding of business applications into a governance model

  • SOD controls feature enhancements

  • Improved continuous data quality reporting

  • Windows Server 2012 R2 support

Omada Identity Suite version 11 is available today.

Omada Combines Applications, Systems, and Identity Stores into Logical IT Ressources for Business-Centric Resource Handling

The latest release includes a new innovative release of IT resource lifecycle management, SoD enhancements, improved reporting, flexible surveys and Windows Server 2012R2 support.

Copenhagen, January 15th, 2014 - Omada, a recognized technology leading provider of adaptable identity access management and governance solutions, today announced a new version of the award-winning Omada Identity Suite. The new version includes an innovative business centric IT resource identity lifecycle management solution that transparently spans across multiple applications and systems.

Users want access to the resources (i.e. applications, user permissions, assets) that they require to fulfill their job function. Often, for IT that translates into a complex set of user access permissions that spans across multiple applications, which typically contains limited or no business context. As a result, user access administration becomes increasingly complex expanding the gap between the business and the IT administration.

The new Resource Lifecycle Management business workflow solves this problem. Essentially, the workflow creates logical applications that the business can read and understand, and provides automation that handles access privilege changes in the underlying IT infrastructure. The workflow innovatively handles situations where access to applications is partly managed within the applications themselves and partly in enterprise wide identity stores such as Active Directory or LDAP.

This innovative new resource identity handling capability is yet another step towards Omada’s strategy of delivering more packaged functionality. “We have already seen significant customer acceptance of our packaged processes such as user attestation for compliance, on-/off-boarding of staff and contractors and now also application on-/off-boarding,” says Morten Boel Sigurdsson, CEO and co-founder, Omada. “In the new release presentation of resources is done in the context of the business making it easier for IT and business users to perform self-service and recertification, as well as automate compliance reporting and user provisioning,” he continues.

Additionally, the new Omada Identity Suite release includes stronger identity governance and compliance enforcement with even more flexible SoD enforcement that is applied at the identity level. Enhancements also include standardized reporting and an improved dashboard interface that facilitates system wide user experience customization and localization and a dynamically adaptable survey editor as well as Windows Server 2012R2 support.

The Omada Identity Suite is a leading enterprise solution for integrated user identity access management, identity governance, and compliance. Omada Identity Suite is unique as it is the only enterprise solution available that provides identity access management and governance processes that dynamically and easily adapts to changes in the business over time – and that is built on the Microsoft platform for easy adoption into existing IT infrastructures. As a result, unlike traditional implementations with very long planning and implementation schedules, customers can achieve very fast time-to-value as they can start with their immediate needs and then expand the solution over time.
